Bénédicte Blanc-Fontenille is a French artist, and a 1985 graduate of L’Ecole des Beaux Arts, living and working in Miami since 2001. Throughout her career, she has been inspired by one simple yet profound observation: That life is extremely fragile, and yet, it is our knowledge of this fact that causes us to constantly move through cycles of building up and tearing down, rising and falling, rejoicing and grieving … then doing it all over again.
Ironically, for her, fragility appears to be energy, like an engine that propels us forward and generate movement. As she said: »life is nothing but movement. »
